Please go to https://www.tenancydepositscheme.com/join/join-landlord/ to choose between our Custodial and Insured scheme. Once you have registered your details, you will be sent an email to create an account after which you can log in to your new account and start protecting deposits.
TDS Custodial:
These are the steps you need to follow in order to register your tenant’s deposit with the scheme.
Log into your account at www.tenancydepositscheme.com using your email address and password
When we receive the deposit, we will send you a pre-populated version of the prescribed information template which you are required to give to your tenant(s) and any relevant persons (anyone who paid the deposit on behalf of the tenant(s) within 30 days of receiving the deposit. To ensure the template includes the circumstances in which you can retain the deposit at the end of the tenancy, please go to ‘My Options’, select ‘My Portfolio’, then ‘Additional Information’, then ‘Edit’.
Once we have received the funds and they have been allocated to your account you will receive the Deposit Protection Certificate which will be emailed out to all parties. You will also need to serve on your tenants a copy of the Prescribed information and Scheme Leaflet within 30 days of receiving the deposit.?

To become a Member of TDS Insured, applicants must:
Once you have set up an account, you will need to register tenancy details to include the full deposit amount, full tenancy address including postcode, tenancy start date, end date and name and contact details of the tenant(s). You will then need to pay the appropriate insurance fee to receive a certificate to prove that you have registered the deposit within our scheme.
